A tulip shaped church fan embellished with a rich foiled black-on-black design with a fringe of iridescent black and red coque feathers across the top, and edged with black French scroll braid. In the center, a vintage silver-plated filigree encrusted with tiny clear crystal rhinestones and a black oval cabochon is crowned with a tuft of black hackle feathers and hand-curled black and red coque feathers. Finished with an antique silver-plated handle garnished with a bow of 1 3/8 inch (3.5cm) wide crimson satin-edged organza ribbon. Stunning as a functional fan or decadent decor. Thought it was about time I updated this thing and let you know what's new & about to hit the store front from Lady V Designs @ the Art of Adornment store.

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that my Victorian Feather Church Fans were in the works. Well, they are done, delivered and I'm just waiting (with bated breath) for them to be posted to Art of Adornment, Yippee, I can't wait. I'm so pleased with the outcome, that I'm already planning more but they do take a lot of time to create and track down all the vintage embellishments. One thing you can count on with these fans, no one else has anything like these in store. I'll post pics as always one they are up, which should be in the next 2-3 days.

Next on the production line is something that people have been asking more of for a while now; my Victorian Skeletal Hand Brooches & Barrettes. I have a bundle sculpted and in the next day or two the silver leafing will begin.

I have glue in places I shouldn't... ;-) but it will be all worth it in the long run. By this time next week there *should* be some wonderful new additions to Art of Adornment, that is if all goes well. (*Crosses fingers*). I've spent the better part of today, fiddling with an item that I've had bubbling about in my brain for several months, Victorian Feather Church Fans. Each one will be one of a kind as I'm using vintage parts. So far I have 4 in various states of disarray about the living room floor. I will be keeping 1 for myself and 3 will be for sale with in the next week or so. I'm quite excited! So far they look beautiful, silver platted handles, luscious blacks, rich reds & velvet flocking! I'll post them as soon as they are up.

Layers of flowing antique bronze floral and Art Nouveau motif stampings create a stunning contrast with the charmlike brass watch cogs and matte black glass bicone beads which dangle from them. A hand-poured resin teardrop shaped cabochon containing more vintage watch parts acts as a focal point in the centre. A 1 inch (2.5cm) antique brass locking bar pin is mounted on the back.
